Due to their anatomical connection, the health of the oral cavity plays a significant role in gastrointestinal health. In this presentation, we will discuss the importance of the oral microbiome and its relationship to systemic health. We will examine the role of biofilms and dysbiosis in the mouth and how that can lead to not just periodontal disease but also systemic illness. We will conclude with solutions to support oral wellness and whole body health.
