Hi Faiz:
Questions on gravity MAH would be best handled by asking Dr. Rowen on email. You did take his class, I believe, he will send that out for you, we may have it in the archives somewhere if you do a search but if not I should have that on the site soon.
hi pete - i do have the handout - but it is a bit unclear (it was taken from another source). so for gravity MAH:
- what is calcium chloride sol'n used for? can one use ca gluc instead?
- initially hand out it says use 21 gauge butterfly - but then later it refers to 18 gauge butterfly?
- they advocate use of a 60 cc syringe to draw blood - they do not mention heparin for syringe (?) - although they say 2-4 mL goes into line of the infusion set. is that enough?
- also initially - they ask to drain saline out of a 500 mL saline bag - leaving 'a little.' they say to do this using a drip line with filter. what kind of filter? why is filter necessary to drain away saline which is to be discarded? I am assuming filter is NOT used in the tubing which runs the ozonate blood back into patient?
Robert sent me your contact before we chatted, so just use that email and include all that in it, he is really good at answering...
I am trying to create a new post on here for MAH and adolescents but on my end I see no create post button so I am replying here in hopes someone can help. We have an 11 year old diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis, OCD, tics, anxiety, PANDAS who has done IV ozone via bag method in New York last year (750mL total) with some improvements and the mother is requesting IV MAH Ozone with us. We have never treated an adolescent with IV ozone before therefore I have no protocols other than some listed in the back of the Zotzmann book we received that states "No more than 4,000 gamma should be administered in any one course of autohemotherapy with children". This would mean I could only do 200mL of blood at 20 gamma in one pass correct? Is this information outdated? I would think I can do a higher gamma than 20 but want to make sure I do not exceed any recommended dosing. This child is about the size of a small adult. Any help would be appreciated. I have found nothing on IV MAH and children.
Hi Melissa; The system holds the first few posts and does not allow topics to be created, after that you are good to go.
I dont think you would have issues with the boy/girl/adult if you are slow with it. Yes, you can increase but it is up to you as you are the physician. I would not go too far if you are concerned but I do believe that your concern should be at how much more than concentration. Again as I have said many times, it is not about amount as it is about consistency. Ozone will work, no matter how much and concentration it is. It is not necessary to overdo it to get an effect, you will get it. If the child took 750ml then you are good with 3-4 passes. To be safe I would use 35 gamma or more but how much more is up to you as you are the attending physician. I would however stay around the 50-55 area if you are up to it.
